What if getting fit was fun?

Some people like exercising, but it's fair to say that more don't! For MOD's Hedonism exhibition, we created an installation designed to coax people into getting active, stripping away the usual intimidating cues, equipment and feelings. Using a 6-metre, double-sided monolith of flip-dots that react to your movement, we crafted an experience that rewards energy expended with a spectacular audio-visual display, as though a cascade of endorphins are washing over the brain. The more you put in, the more you get out!

Grumpy Sailor operates on lands belonging to the Gadigal people of the Eora nation, and the Boon Wurrung and Woiwurrung (Wurundjeri) peoples of the Kulin nation.

We acknowledge these traditional owners and we pay our respects to leaders past, present and emerging.
